On the General English 20 Course, you attend a core of 20 lessons per week (15 hours), which will give you a practical understanding of the English language and take you all the way to fluency. Your confidence will improve as we train you in all four communication skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing.

This General English language course has 24 Lessons per week. Beginner to Advanced levels; 1 lesson: 50 minutes; 2 days (6.5 lessons), 3 days (4 lessons). During the lessons, you rapidly improve your communication skills in a variety of everyday situations. In 2 lessons each day you will cover the following areas: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation. In a further 2 lessons you concentrate on: speaking, listening, reading, writing. You use a text book and a wide variety of materials and exercises including roleplays, authentic materials, newspapers and magazines.

Pathways programmes at LSI's schools in Auckland help students gain access into many respected New Zealand higher learning institutions. Pathways programmes focus mostly on English language training but also provide support and assistance with university and college applications. In addition, a number of LSI partner institutions in NZ offer conditional letters of acceptance to LSI students and recognise LSI levels in place of external tests of English.

English Plus courses combine English lessons with a specialized activity.

Our General English Courses aim to develop students' ability to communicate effectively in English. All aspects of language are covered with an emphasis on speaking and listening. This General English language course has 92 individual lessons. Beginner to advanced levels. 9 consecutive days; 1 lesson: 50 minutes; Hours per week: 68 hours 20 minutes. Courses begin: every Saturday, Includes lunchtime lessons with teacher; Ages: 16 +. This course is perfect for those with exacting needs which must be met in a short space of time. Requiring just one week away from the office, this course is ideal for busy professionals and executives who need to prepare for presentation and meetings abroad.

Our standard General English language course allows you to improve all areas of your English language: grammar, vocabulary, speaking, listening, pronunciation, reading and writing. General English is available as a standard course (24 lessons per week). In this General English language course, you will: - Learn ‘real’ English using the latest course books and materials. - Learn, review and put into practice new language every day. - Be able to develop your communication skills by working with other students doing activities such as role-plays, pair work and group discussions. - Explore new techniques to help you improve your listening and reading. - Practise and improve your writing skills by analysing and producing documents such as emails, formal and informal letters and reports. - Have regular tutorials with your teacher to discuss your progress. - Get up to 2 hours of homework each evening.

This course also focuses on clear, easily-understood pronunciation and on developing interpersonal skills which showcase your own unique personality.What skills will you gain?The Real English course is a 3-level program offered at Intermediate, Upper Intermediate and Advanced levels. Each level takes 12 weeks to complete. Students are given end of term tests every four weeks.Intermediate - Become familiar with fast-paced conversation skills and practical vocabulary through role play.Upper Intermediate - Build a strong foundation in public speaking, presentation skills, and formal/ informal vocabulary.Advanced - Near native level of fluency through advanced level of presentation, debate and group discussion.

In this General English language course you will join multi-national language classes following a syllabus closely mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, covering key language domains, skills and competencies appropriate to your level of ability. Objectives: This programme of study is intended to enhance the all-round language and communication skills of those who wish to work or study more effectively in an international context. You will improve your language skills and also enhance your inter-cultural communication.

The General English and IELTS Preparation Course takes place all year round, from Monday to Friday. Morning lessons follow the same programme as the Standard Course.  There are three afternoons a week of IELTS preparation lessons.This course focuses on improving students’ English, as well as on developing their exam techniques. At the end of each week, students will be given a progress test.  They will also have the opportunity to sit an IELTS exam during the last week of the course (exam must be booked separately.).  If the student is planning to take the IELTS exam while studying with CES, they should contact our Examinations Office [email protected] for help with registration online.
